Bulgari Mansions: A Jewel in Dubai’s Crown

Dubai’s Latest Iconic Real Estate

Dubai retains its ability to surprise and delight everyone who visits it.

As someone who has witnessed the meteoric rise of Dubai’s skyline, the addition of Bulgari mansions marks yet another milestone in the city’s illustrious architectural journey. Dubai never ceases to amaze with its blend of iconic designs and global franchise partnerships.

I remember watching the transformation of landmarks like the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Wild Wadi, Burj al Arab, and Madinat Jumeirah. Each development added a unique charm to the city’s landscape. Today, 5-star hotels adorn the beachfront, while the Bulgari mansions grace the reclaimed seaside opposite Burj al Arab. This area, which has been coveted since the 1980s, continues to evolve with projects like Jumeirah Living extending its luxury reach.

The evolution of Dubai’s real estate is a testament to its relentless creativity and growth, making it a city like no other.

Memory in Motion: The Timeless Dubai Abra

A Nostalgic Journey Across the Creek

The experience of riding over the waves remains unchanged.

The Dubai Abra transport system is more than just a means to cross the Creek; it’s a living memory in motion. Dating back to the 1950s, these boats originally ferried commuters from Bur Dubai to Deira and now continue their journey from Dubai to Bur Dubai.

As a child, I cherished trips with my dad across the Creek to buy electrical supplies. Those moments, filled with smiles and shared experiences, remain vivid. Today, while the boats are more comfortable and quieter, the essence of the ride over the waves remains unchanged. The jetties have improved, yet navigating around parked boats to reach the shore is still part of the adventure.

The Abra system is a beautiful reminder of Dubai’s ability to preserve its past while embracing the future.

The Majestic Boat of the Late Sheikh Rashid

From Childhood Playground to Cultural Landmark

The area has been transformed into ‘Al Seef,’ preserving its historical significance.

Located in Dubai’s Zabeel area, the Majestic Boat of the late Sheikh Rashid holds a special place in my heart. It used to be a playground for my brother and me when it was docked by the creek jetty opposite the Embassy.

Adjacent to the boat was a beach where we would swim and watch ships pass by on their way to the Jadaf Area for maintenance or offloading cargo. Today, this area has transformed into Al Seef, an enchanting Arabic Souk that preserves the historical significance of the past while offering a modern cultural experience.

The Majestic Boat is a cherished piece of Dubai’s heritage, bridging fond childhood memories with the city’s ever-evolving landscape.

The Evolution of Emirates Hotel and Towers

From Skyscrapers to Futuristic Landmarks

My first staycation was at the Emirates Hotel on the 52nd floor back in the 2000s!

The Emirates Hotel and Tower was the first structure that put Dubai on the international architectural map. This was followed by the groundbreaking Dubai Metro, and later, the awe-inspiring Museum of the Future.

From 2000 to 2023, I had the privilege of witnessing these iconic landmarks take shape. My first staycation was at the Emirates Hotel on the 52nd floor back in the 2000s, a memory that still feels like yesterday.

These developments are a testament to Dubai’s forward-thinking vision and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Embracing Diversity: My Journey in a Catholic School

A Testament to Dubai’s Open-Mindedness

The welcoming of different faiths in Dubai highlights the city’s diversity.

I spent my formative years studying in a Catholic school, with a Church right within the compound. Over the decades, I watched Dubai’s population swell from 270,000 in 1980 to 10 million in 2024.

The city’s growth brought a remarkable blend of cultures and faiths. The presence of a Gurdwara temple and a Hindu temple in Dubai is a testament to its inclusive and welcoming spirit.

Living in Dubai, I am reminded daily of its unique diversity and the pride it instills in its residents.
